Drawing from centuries of Italian craftsmanship, Terzani’s Memory Project incorporates precious materials with cutting edge technology to create unique, luxurious pieces with roots in the noble craft traditions of wrought iron, wood, and Scavo glass. In 1985, Sergio Terzani met Jean-Francois Crochet, an experienced Parisian designer. Together, they updated the craft culture, presenting it from a contemporary design angle. Jean François Crochet designed most of the lighting sculptures you will f ind here; no longer accessories or cold, technical supports, but dramatic, vibrant designs that build a unique bridge from the past to the present.
About Us
Since the beginning, Terzani has always viewed aesthetics as a way of interpreting natural and artistic beauty. Born in Florence, Italy, the cradle of the Renaissance, the company was driven to follow the creative invocations of the magical city. The word “aesthetics” originates from the greek “aisthesis” which means feeling or, more precisely, knowledge created by the use of oneʼs senses. When you look at a Terzani design, you can sense how it’s light enchantingly envelops the surrounding space. Itʼs more than simply a practical, utilitarian design, itʼs an aesthetic representing modern and artistic beauty through the use of design and innovative technologies.
The unique style Terzani has established requires balancing several characteristics. Terzani is elegant and sophisticated, innovative yet original. Terzani uses the latest technology, but also incorporates fine materials traditionally hand-crafted by local artisans. Each lamp is an object/sculpture that is meant to be fully integrated into its surroundings, spreading a charming and enchanting play of light. Thus creating a constant interaction between the lamp and the space around it.
The feeling Terzani exudes is one of harmony and togetherness. Its products are grounded in the human process, transmitting the handmade artisan traditions of lovingly crafting objects piece by piece. This is the essence of Terzani, seeing beauty in the contemporary world, tradition and the search for new forms and languages. For all these reasons, the company is growing and has expanded its exports to a growing number of countries.
